Pingerbird: a social learning network with an MCP server
Our own product: a learning network on web, Android and iOS where teachers and creators run study communities, and where teachers can build mock tests and notes just by asking Claude or ChatGPT.
The problem
Students prepare for exams like NEET, JEE and UPSC inside noisy group chats and apps built to distract them, and teachers spend hours typing up tests and notes. We wanted the pull of a social feed pointed at learning, plus a way for teachers to create in minutes instead of hours.
What we built
- Nests: free or paid study communities around a subject, exam or interest, led by teachers and creators
- Drills: a reel-style feed of quizzes, flashcards and facts built for active recall, with a personal revision vault
- Mock tests with six question types, sections, marks and negative marking, plus notes with math and diagrams
- A remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in, so teachers can create tests, notes, posts and polls from Claude or ChatGPT
- Safety by design for AI: content arrives as drafts, publishing is a separate approved step, and the assistant can't delete anything
- Creator Studio with insights into where students get stuck, plus competitions run with partner institutes
- Apps for Android and iOS, a web app, and the marketing site
The outcome
Live on the web, Google Play and the App Store with 1,000+ Android installs. Teachers can connect it to Claude or ChatGPT and turn one chat into a ready-to-review mock test. Pingerbird is recognized by DPIIT as a startup, incubated at FIST-TBI, IIT Patna, and supported by Startup Bihar.
